How to help an animal that’s been hit by a car

Follow these tips to help a injured animal on the road.

Turn on your hazard lights & be aware for your own safety.

Approach the animal cautiously & calmly, don’t make any sudden moves or speak with a loud voice.

Take your time, back off if you have to.

The animal may be in shock & respond to you with aggression. It might try to run away, bite, or scratch you so be prepared.

Try to wrap the animal in a blanket, jumper, &/or put it in a cardboard box or something similar & move it off the road.

Don’t move the animal unnecessarily & move it gently.

Tae Google search to find the nearest vet & take it there immediately. If the animal is aggressive put it in the boot before driving safely & calmly to the vet.
